Meet Teresa and David

Hello! We are David and Teresa Bolme, permanent residents of North Captiva Island and owners of our nice little cottage, Hummingbird Hideaway. We are excited to offer a place of rest and relaxation to new visitors. Our goal is to provide superior hospitality in a home that exceeds your expectations.

David has a BS in Computer Science from Tennessee Technological University. During his college years he met the young, smart, and beautiful Teresa, and has been married to her for over 30 years. David currently works remotely from the island for a biometric solutions company in Franklin, Tennessee. As a person who likes to play it safe and avoid risks, the move from Tennessee was a great leap of faith based on the desire to live a life not defined by safety, but a life that has been lived to be a blessing and to make a difference in the lives of others. With the move to the island, David is able to indulge one of his passions which is fishing. You can read more of about those adventures in the Snook Brothers Fishing Blog on this site.

Teresa is a devoted wife, caring mother to eight daughters and now a grandmother two times over. She has spent most of her life as a care giver for all types and ages of people, from all walks of life. She went back to school and earned a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Christian Counseling, and received certifications in the areas of Marriage and Family, Children, and the Elderly. Teresa has been involved in several Online Bible study groups and has written and published I AM: Discovering Who You Were Created to Be for an international study group. This study was written while staying on North Captiva in 2013. With her permanent move here to the island, she now looks forward to being a part of the lives of a new group of friends and visitors.
